Therapy for Parents & Families
Life is hard and you’re exhausted. You are working as hard as you to do everything and do it right, and it can feel incredibly lonely. You may be in need of a fresh start, some practical parenting skills, help navigating your child’s anxiety or ADHD, or maybe just the energy and motivation to get through today. You don’t need to keep it all together by yourself anymore.
Therapy offers a safe and comfortable place where you can take time for yourself and work through your feelings, thoughts, and relationships. We will work together discern the goals and values that are most important to you. I am trained in child and adolescent development and can offer a balance of giving the individual support you deserve while working together to find real-life solutions for your family. Together, we will focus on your strengths and work towards shaping a life where you and your family are safe, confident, and happy.
Therapy looks different for every family.
In our phone consultation, I can help you discern what will work best for you and your family. This may be individual sessions for yourself or your teen, family therapy, a referral to another provider, or a mix of these options. We may be a good fit for therapy if…
You are exhausted and feel like you’re constantly fighting with your child. Child-Parent Relationship Training is a great way to re-build your relationship with you child, as well as help them with self-control, self-esteem, and communication. It is strengths and play-based program that is best for parents of children 2.5 to 10 years old.
Your child or teen is frozen by anxiety, and nothing you do seems to help. We can work together to better understand their fears and make a step-by-step, supportive plan that may help them better manage and move through stress.
You just feel stuck and all the things that used to make you happy somehow don’t work anymore. We can work together to help you practice self-compassion and shape habits and solutions that fit the life you want.
You are second-guessing your every move as a parent, and want to make sure you are doing the best for your child. We can take a breath and a step back together. We can problem-solve any parenting challenges, discuss what are normal/abnormal developmental behaviors, and work together to find a balance that works best for you and your family.
