Hi, I’m Elyse.

I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate (supervised by Nanci Silver-Boice, M.Ed., M.A., LMFT-S, LPC-S) and a National Certified Counselor who specializes in helping teens, young adults, and parents navigate the many transitions of high school, college, career, and family. As a former high school teacher, I have always been passionate about helping young people as they work their way through this unique time in their lives, and I bring that same passion to counseling.

My goal in my practice is to help you better define who you are and what you want out of life, while also working to develop practical tools to help you manage your present, everyday challenges. I am here to listen to your unique experiences and work with you to find solutions that highlight your strengths and align with your goals.

I work with clients who want help dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, academic struggles, relationship issues, and life transitions. I am intentional about creating a warm and inviting space in therapy, a place where you feel heard and respected. I’m open-minded about working with persons of all cultures, beliefs, gender and sexual orientations, and ways of life.

Professional Experience

    • In this role, I helped college students navigate issues like finding real friendships, staying calm and feeling prepared for tests, improving executive functioning skills for ADHD, and finding healthy ways to manage their emotions.

  • High School Teacher, Austin ISD, Norman Public Schools, and Lovejoy ISD

    • In my twelve years in education, I worked with a wide range of students - from those scraping it together to pass to the students living under the constant pressure at the top of the class rank. Approaches

Therapy can look different for everyone! Here are some of the approaches that are most helpful for my clients:

  • Solution-Focused Therapy is a practical approach where we set clear goals and focus on what works well for you. We will imagine what your life will be like when your problems are solved and find tangible ways to bring that life into existence.

  • Narrative Therapy focuses on the story that you want to tell about your life and the people in it. We'll explore creative and practical solutions to your problems, identify your values, and set goals together. You can feel empowered to decide what the next chapter of your life will be!

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy focuses on changing your thinking about the events and experiences in your life. By identifying, challenging, and replacing irrational beliefs, you can feel more in control of your emotions and life.
